Frankfurt! And Mainz!

There are a lot of places I have on my list to see in Germany. You can go again and again and have totally unique experiences in different towns within the same country. BUT, neither Frankfurt nor Mainz were on that list. When Chad got staffed in a small town I had never even heard of, I wasn't as thrilled as I was when he got staffed on the Champs Elysees in Paris, but I decided why not take baby Jules and wander around and explore the place (and it's surroundings, just wait until I show you the castles!). Well it turns out Mainz is ADORABLE. And to get there you have to fly through Frankfurt, so we went to see my dad's old stomping grounds while we were at it (he studied at the music conservatory there years ago).

^^I'm always a sucker for a tunnel of trees...

^^...and gingerbread houses...

^^...and schneckenangebot (I think that is a very fancy way of saying cinnamon roll...this one was filled with chocolate)...

^^...and obviously FALL LEAVES! Frankfurt turned out to have a great selection of some of my favorite things.

^^And Mainz! Mainz turned out to be heavily PINK...

^^And so so charming.

^^I could stare at this door for a long time.

^^These buildings are seriously perfect.

^^And this is a CHURCH. A pink church! Does it get better than that!?

From Mainz, we rented a car and visited a handful of castles, the longest suspension bridge in Germany, and another one of the cutest towns I have ever seen: Heidelberg! Posts coming up (I have months of catching up to do and enough pictures from the other places that I decided they deserved their own posts)!
